Driving directions for Valkeisen Loma Farm
Our address is well sign-posted from the VT18 main road at the Niemiskylä Village crossroads (road 7091), which is in close proximity to the Ähtäri Zoo crossroads (at a distance of 200 m). The brown signs state “Valkeisen Loma”. Towards the end of the journey (all the way to the farm), the signs are in black and state the same (“Valkeisen Loma”).
When using navigator, always choose “the fastest route”. Some satellite navigators tend to incorrectly recommend the shortest route – especially if approaching from the south – to drive via the Itä-Ähtärintie road. For reasons beyond our control, there are no brown signs on this route. If you, however, end up driving via Itä-Ähtärintie road, you cannot use Soidinmäentie Road and instead of that, you will need to use a small forest road further north. Hence, we highly recommend you to drive along road 7091 “Niemisvedentie”.
Notice also that our address has changed from Valkeisentie 189 to Valkeisentie 157.
Your navigator might also suggest incorrect locations for our address, Valkeisentie 189. Choose Inha, Reijo or Ähtäri. Some navigators suggest Vehu, which is located in Soini and is incorrect!
From the south / Virrat: When driving on the road 68, pass signs to Ähtäri town centre (Ähtärin keskusta) and drive straight on until you reach the Seinäjoki / Jyväskylä crossroads. Turn right onto road 18 heading towards Jyväskylä. Stay on this road for about 4 km, then take a left turn to Niemiskylä and Valkeisen Loma (as indicated by a brown sign). Continue for 3 km then turn left into Valkeisentie road and after 2 km you will have arrived with us.
From the south / Keuruu (Pihlajavesi): When driving on road 6215 from Pihlajavesi towards Ähtäri town centre, turn right onto road 68 following the signs to Alajärvi/Seinäjoki/Jyväskylä. Stay on this road until you reach the Seinäjoki / Jyväskylä crossroads where you will turn right onto road 18 in the direction of Jyväskylä. Stay on this road for about 4 km, then take a left turn to Niemiskylä and Valkeisen Loma (as indicated by a brown sign). Continue for 3 km then turn left into Valkeisentie road and after 2 km you will have arrived with us.
From the west / Seinäjoki (Alavus, Töysä): Drive on road 18 towards Jyväskylä (going past signs to Ähtäri town centre) until about 4 km after the Neste service station where you will turn left at the signposts for Niemiskylä and the brown signs stating “Valkeisen Loma”. Stay on this road for 3 km, then take a left turn onto Valkeisentie road; after 2 km, you have reached your destination.
From the east / Jyväskylä and from the north / Karstula: Drive on road 18 past Myllymäki until 200 metres past the signs for Ähtäri Zoo (which are about 5 km before Ähtäri itself), where you will take a right turn towards Niemiskylä as signposted and follow brown signs stating “Valkeisen Loma”. Stay on this road for 3 km then make a left onto the Valkeisentie road; after 2 km you will have reached your destination.
From the north / Alajärvi (Lehtimäki, Ähtärinranta): When driving along road 68, from Lehtimäki to Ähtäri, take a left turn onto road 18 in the direction of Jyväskylä. Drive past the Ähtäri town centre signs until you’re are about 4 km past Neste service station, where you will turn left towards Niemiskylä as signposted and follow the brown “Valkeisen Loma” signs. Stay on this road for 3 km, then make a left turn onto Valkeisentie road; finally, after another 2 km you will be with us.
